Solar Power 201, Back by Popular Demand

Saturday, June 12, 2010 - 11:00am - 1:00pm

It's been a few months since we hosted a 201, so once again, now we're taking it to the next level.  This time around you will learn the finer points of how a solar panel is built and works.  All solar modules are not created equally so one needs to understand how to interpret the specifications of a solar module.

You'll learn about online tools and the independent agency that evaluates solar equipment so as to calculate how a module and a system will perform in the real world conditions of our climate.

We will also be going over the same tools for the many inverter options available and understand how an inverter operates and controls a solar array.

Also taught will be best roof top practices and meeting NEC electrical code for the wiring and utility interconnection of a solar system, the different mounting solutions and how a racking system is attached to a roof.

We'll have a condensed Solar Power 101 to make sure everyone is up to speed before proceeding onto the 201 course.

If it looks like it's going to be a nice day, we'll be hosting this one in our warehouse with the doors open so you'll get to see solar components up close and personal.

Solar 201 presentation will be an hour and a half followed by a 30 minute Q&A.
