Solar Power 201
Friday, March 26, 2010 - 12:30am - 2:00am
Finally, we have the details for the next Solar U. All seminars u to this point have been Solar Power 101 - The Basics.
Now we're taking it to the next level. This time around you will learn the finer points of how a solar panel is built and works. All solar modules are not created equally so one needs to understand how to interpret the specifications of a solar module.
You'll learn about online tools and the independent agency that evaluates solar equipment so as to calculate how a module and a system will perform in the real world conditions of our climate.
We will also be going over the same tools for the many inverter options available and understand how an inverter operates and controls a solar array.
Also taught will be best roof top practices and meeting NEC electrical code for the wiring and utility interconnection of a solar system, the different mounting solutions and how a racking system is attached to a roof.
We'll have a condensed Solar Power 101 to make sure everyone is up to speed before proceeding onto the 201 course.
